EVEN AS A CHILD, I WAS PUTTING TOGETHER OUTFITS
"I've always loved putting together outfits! My mother would always say after every compliment: my daughter dresses me! It's true! Even as a child, I spent hours in her closet preparing all sorts of outfits for her...and to my great surprise, she wore them!
I love clothes and design; it's my passion and I've made it my profession. But today, I no longer find meaning in accumulating pieces in my wardrobe, nor in incessantly creating clothes to follow trends and harm our planet. I needed to give meaning to my creations, to reinvent a fairer way of dressing.
The dilemma? I wanted to declutter our wardrobes without depriving ourselves of a multitude of looks. So, I created modular clothes to have several garments in one."
THE WHITE VILLAGES
"What inspired the brand's DNA for me were the white villages, 'los pueblos blancos' in Arcos de la Frontera, an Andalusian village that my great-grandfather, Francisco Carmona, described to me, where he was born. I loved listening to this story, the richness of the culture and the purity of that immaculate white adorning the village. This is reflected in my pieces, with their clean lines, as well as their ecological and functional richness.
As a child, I painted the facades and tree trunks at my grandmother's house with white lime, just like the pueblos blancos in southern Spain.
The white villages, my desire to create outfits, my ethical values, and my southern roots gave birth to Claudia Carmona."
